Development Alliance (NIDA)
NIDA is a not-for-profit corporation, creating a
public/private partnership to retain, expand and diversify the economic base of
the Freeport/ Stephenson County and Northwest Illinois area. The LEDC has recently been cooperating with
NIDA on the issue of developing economic incentives and business retention in
Illinois’s Northwest region. The LEDC
has also recently been incorporated as a voting member of NIDA.
The RC&D is a not-for-profit group promoting economic
development and opportunity in the Northwest Region of Illinois. The LEDC is working with the RC&D on
finding funding sources for infrastructure issues that will help promote
business and industry expansion in the Village of Lena. The LEDC is also acting a one of two representatives for the RC&D for Stephenson County.
By joining forces with other like minded
communities, the Alliance hopes to bring a regional focus on vital issues like
transportation and economic development.
If our region is to grow and prosper we need to speak with one voice
about what our priorities are. The Alliance
believes that developing a competitive infrastructure is key
to participating in the global economy.
The Alliance is a group of commerce, government and business leaders
that advocate and strengthen northern Illinois’ ability to participate in the global
supply chain.
